A Khatiyan tells you what land a family holds. The map, or naksha (ନକ୍ସା), tells you where each plot lies, its shape and its neighbours. In Odisha the cadastral (village) maps are published by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department through two official tools: the Map View link inside the Bhulekh portal, and the dedicated Bhunaksha Odisha (ଭୂନକ୍ସା) portal.
We are an independent guide, not a government website. Below we explain which route to use, how to find your plot when a village has several map sheets, and what the online map can and cannot be used for.
Two official routes to the Odisha village map
| Route | Where | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Bhulekh Map View | "Map View" in the Bhulekh menu (http://bhulekh.ori.nic.in/frmMapView.aspx), described as "to view Village Maps" | Quick look while you are already reading the RoR |
| Bhunaksha Odisha | https://bhunakshaodisha.nic.in/bhunaksha/ | Finding a single plot, plot information and a plot report PDF |
| Bhunaksha second entry | https://app2bhunakshaodisha.nic.in/ ("Select District", then "Proceed") | Use if the main Bhunaksha page is slow |
The Bhulekh FAQ also says maps are under the "MapView" tab. In our research the Map View link existed but its content did not load for us, so we cannot describe its screens in detail. If it does not open, use Bhunaksha. Our dedicated Bhunaksha Odisha guide covers that portal in more depth.
Get your details from the RoR first
Map search is much easier if you already have the plot number. Open your Khatiyan on Bhulekh (see how to view the RoR) and note down from the back page:
- District, Tahasil and Mouza (village) name
- Every plot number in the khatiyan
- The area (ରକବା) and kisam of each plot
- The boundaries column (ଚୌହଦି), which names neighbouring plots
The RoR fields we saw do not include a map sheet number or an RI circle. You usually find those on the map portal itself, as explained below. If you have only the plot number, the plot details guide helps you confirm the khatiyan first.

Steps: view your plot on Bhunaksha Odisha
- Open https://bhunakshaodisha.nic.in/bhunaksha/ in your browser. Place names are in Odia.
- State is already Odisha. Choose the District.
- Choose the Tehsil (the same as Tahasil on Bhulekh).
- Choose the RI circle. If you do not know it, try each RI in the tahasil and look for your village name.
- Choose the Village.
- Choose the Sheet No. Many villages have several sheets, for example 01 to 05.
- Click on your plot in the map, or search the plot number if a search box shows.
- Open "Plot Info" to read the plot's details.
- For a printable version, go to the plot report and use "Show Report" or "Show Report PDF".
The step order is our reading of the portal's labels, not an official manual. If your screen looks different, keep the same idea: narrow down from district to village, then sheet, then plot.
Finding the right sheet number
A large village is split across several map sheets. The portal does not tell you in advance which sheet holds your plot. Practical tips:
- Plot numbers may run in blocks across sheets. Open sheet 01, read the plot numbers, and move up or down to the sheet where your number range appears.
- Use the neighbouring plots from the RoR boundaries column to confirm you are on the right spot.
- Switch the base map between "Google Map" and "Bing Maps" to compare with roads, ponds or buildings you know.
- Try the "Layers" or "Show FMB Layers" options if plot lines are hard to see.
The plot report also has a "Scale" field and an option for "All Plots of same owner" in addition to "Single Plot". No official map scale value was found on the pages we checked, so do not measure distances off the screen and treat them as survey figures.
Online map vs official map sheet
The online map and plot report show no legal-validity statement. Treat them as a guide for locating land, not as a survey or demarcation. For an official copy of the village map, the Odisha Revenue Services portal offers "Apply for Cadastral Map(s) of Village(s)". The official fee is Rs 300 per map sheet (Map Requisition), and you can follow it under "Application Status" with the type "Map Requisition". Read more on our Tahasil portal guide.
If you need the boundary marked on the ground, Odisha Revenue Services lists "Apply for Demarcation (For Private Individual)", with an official fee of Rs 800 per plot. A map on screen never replaces that.
Problems you may face
- Village shows no map: not every village map may be digitised or loaded. Ask the Tahasil office or the RI.
- Map and RoR do not match: R&DM has issued notices on web-based Bhunaksha for correcting cadastral maps. Report the mismatch at the Tahasil; the online tool cannot fix it.
- Site slow or blank: try the app2bhunakshaodisha.nic.in entry, a desktop browser, or a later time.
- Login button: the map view and plot report did not need a login when we checked; "Login" is usually for officials.
For land size conversions from the plot report, use our acre and decimal converter. For any area in Bhubaneswar, the Khordha guide applies the same steps.
Frequently asked questions
How to see Bhulekh Odisha map of my village?
On the official Bhunaksha Odisha portal choose District, Tehsil, RI, Village and Sheet No, then click your plot to see Plot Info. The Bhulekh portal also has a Map View link in its menu for village maps. Keep your plot number from the Khatiyan handy, because large villages have several map sheets.
Odisha naksha PDF download kaise kare?
On Bhunaksha Odisha, after selecting your village and sheet, open the plot report and use the Show Report PDF button. You can choose a single plot or all plots of the same owner. This PDF has no legal-validity statement, so use it as a reference. For an official village map sheet, apply on Odisha Revenue Services; the fee is Rs 300 per sheet.
What is sheet number in Odisha Bhunaksha?
A village map is often split into several sheets, numbered for example 01 to 05. You must pick the sheet that contains your plot. The portal does not tell you in advance, so open a sheet, check which plot numbers it shows, and move to the sheet where your plot number range appears.
Can the online map be used to settle a boundary dispute?
No. The online map is for locating land. No official scale value or legal statement appears on the pages we checked. For a boundary on the ground, apply for demarcation on Odisha Revenue Services. For a private individual the official fee is Rs 800 per plot. For a dispute, ask your Tahasil office how to proceed.
What is RI in Bhunaksha Odisha?
RI stands for Revenue Inspector circle. On Bhunaksha Odisha the selection order is District, Tehsil, RI, Village, Sheet No. If you do not know your RI circle, try each RI in your tahasil until your village name appears, or ask at the local Tahasil office.
Bhulekh map view is not opening, what should I do?
The Map View link on Bhulekh may not load (it did not load for us). Use the Bhunaksha Odisha portal directly, or the second entry point app2bhunakshaodisha.nic.in. Try a desktop browser if your phone shows a blank map. If both fail, try again later.
